ABOUT US
We’re a Southeast Asian-inspired coffee and savory brunch spot in Sacramento, reimagining the spirit of the "coffee council" as a communal gathering place for conversation, culture, and comfort. Inspired by traditional kopitiams, we serve bold brews and nostalgic bites in a space where stories and flavors are meant to be shared.
Our name translates to “coffee council” in Thai, but it’s really more like a “coffee club”—a place where people come together to catch up on the news, talk shop, swap stories, and enjoy some good food and even better company. Open during the week from 8 to 2, Sapha Kafae serves up strong coffee, savory brunch plates, and a welcoming vibe that makes it the perfect spot to meet, mingle, and stay a while.
Hi! We’re Tim & Gift.
We started Sapha Kafae because we’ve always loved those cozy, neighborhood spots back in Asia—where the coffee is strong, the food is hearty, and the conversation is buzzing. Our biggest inspiration? The kopitiam—a traditional Southeast Asian coffee shop known for its simple, satisfying meals and communal atmosphere. These humble spaces, often rooted in Chinese communities, are more than just cafés—they’re places to share stories, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections.
We’re drawn to that sense of cultural significance—the idea of a true third place, where people come not just to eat, but to unwind, feel at home, and find community. That’s the spirit we’re bringing to the Capitol City: a welcoming space where flavors spark nostalgia, conversations come easy, and everyone feels like a regular.
Thanks for being here. We can’t wait to serve you.
